BDO decides on collaboration with ADDFIN
With ADDFIN, BDO onboards another technology company, which will support the BDO service platform for asset managers with its experience and know-how in the field of regulatory technology – RegTech in short. This BDO platform solution will enable asset managers to meet the new regulatory requirements in a cost and time efficient manner, so that they can continue to focus on their key business – their clients.
The financial industry is one of the most regulated economic sectors with a lot of new regulations and pro-visions. In particular, independent asset managers may feel forced to having to spend more resources on regulation, IT and human resources in the future. Also, the implementation of increasingly complex regulatory requirements is progressively being digitized. RegTech will be able to bring the measures and technologies together, which support the compliance and risk management of a financial institution and to optimize its processes. A specialist in this field, ADDFIN offers a digital wealth platform that supports independent asset managers and family offices in digitizing, standardizing and automating all asset management tasks. Thanks to its modular design, ADDFIN is able to achieve a symbiosis between RegTech and FinTech.
Complete solution for asset managers
BDO already oversees more than 300 asset managers in the core areas of auditing, trusts, consulting and taxes. The 33 branches throughout Switzerland guarantee a customer-oriented and nationwide coverage. The new asset management service platform combines the digitized services of a RegTech tool with the typical services of BDO for asset managers, such as providing a compliance officer, a risk manager or an out-sourced money laundering agency. All service modules, including proven propositions in the areas of trusts and taxes, can be chosen individually or as part of a package and then individually tailored to the specific needs of the asset manager.
ADDFIN provides the technological basis, BDO brings the expertise
“We can combine ADDFIN’s Digital Compliance service package with our many years of legal, regulatory and compliance expertise”, said Jörg Auf der Maur, BDO’s Head of Financial Services, adding “The continuously changing environment and the new expectations of supervision usually require a fundamental adaptation of all processes and systems. In the wealth management industry, this creates a need for action particularly in the area of infrastructure.” For ADDFIN CEO Peter J. Hegglin is the strategic partnership with BDO an important milestone. “This will enable us to develop into a center of competence for all issues of regulation such as MiFID and FIDLEG/ FINIG. Together with industry leader BDO, we now have the comprehensive expertise.”
BDO and ADDFIN are working together to create an all-inclusive BDO service platform that will allow asset managers to continue to contribute to the diversity of the Swiss financial industry as independent SMEs.
